Salmast Heritage Association (SHA), in collaboration with Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA), honored a scientist with Salmast ancestry, Narek Gharibyan, Ph.D. in Radiochemistry at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), for his contributions to the international research teams that confirmed the discovery of Element 117 and its inclusion on Mendeleev's Periodic Table.
